A man from Denver has been sentenced after a hit-and-run accident where he struck a cyclist. He was sentenced to probation and community service and was also sentenced to 90 days in jail, which was later suspended.
The 52-year-old man was visiting his second home in Vail when the accident occurred. The man was driving his Mercedes down the roadway when he struck the cyclist that was riding on the shoulder of the road.
He then fled and tried to hide his car behind an abandoned store. The cyclist is still recovering from injuries at this time. The man had no previous criminal history and was offered a more lenient deal.
