Woman injured in accident caused by driver’s failure to yield

Last week, a 22-year old woman suffered serious injuries in a car accident in The Grove.  Since the accident, the victim has been has been transferred from Parkview Medical Center to a hospital in Denver.

According to Pueblo police reports, the victim was dropping family off at a bar on Santa Fe Avenue and C Street the night of the accident.  As she was leaving the parking lot, her vehicle was struck by a truck.  The 30-year old driver of the truck is suspected of failing to yield the right-of-way.

Paramedics extricated the woman from her vehicle and rushed her to Parkview for treatment.  The woman’s condition was not released.

Fire fighter injured after truck involved in accident

A firefighter was injured after the fire truck he was riding in was involved in an accident.

The fire engine was traveling with the lights and sirens on when the accident occurred at the intersection of East Colfax and Washington Street.

The accident occurred when a female driver thought that she had time to cross in front of the fire truck and she pulled out in front it causing the two vehicles to collide. The firefighter complained of back pain and was taken to the hospital as a result.

Suspected drunk driver slams into truck, injures one

A suspected drunk driver slammed into a truck that was pulled over on the side of the interstate while attempting to help a pedestrian.

According to Colorado Springs Police, the accident occurred around 2 a.m. on I-25 when a 26-year-old man pulled over on the side to help a pedestrian and a 30-year-old driver struck the back of his truck.

Police arrested the driver for suspicion of driving under the influence and booked him in jail for charges of DUI and vehicular assault. The investigation into the accident is underway at this time.
