Lowe’s recalled 11 million blinds and Roman shades last week after reports were made that showed that this product could potentially become a strangling hazard for children.
The recall includes all style and sizes of Roman shades and roll-up blinds that are sold at Lowe’s. The Consumer Product and Safety Commission were entangled in the cord while looking out the window.
The first incident reported occurred in 2009 when a 2-year-old boy in Colorado became entangled in the cord causing it to wrap around his neck and arm.
Another report was when a little boy received neck burns from the cord of the shade after getting tangled up in it. The blinds were sold at Lowe’s retail stores and online since 1999 until June of this year.
