A California company has announced the recall of broccoli products after the products tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.Taylor Farms Pacific announced the recall after a random test sample show the bacteria contamination. There has not been any illnesses reported  in connection to the recall. The affected recall products have a "use by" date in between Feb. 7, 2011 and March 7, 2011.Listeria monocytogenes can cause short term symptoms for most people, but for children or elderly people the symptoms may be life-threatening. One killed in hit-and-run motorcycle accident…  

Police have made an arrest after a fatal hit-and-run motorcycle accident that occurred at the intersection of Flintridge and Vickers drive.According to Colorado Springs Police, the crash was between two vehicles and occurred around 1:45 a.m. When officers arrived at the scene, one of the motorcyclists had already fled.Police then found the victim of the crash who had been ejected from his motorcycle in the collision and was lying on the sidewalk. Their efforts to revive the man were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene a few minutes later.  According to witnesses, one of the motorcycles was traveling northbound and the other was traveling east when they collided.Our thoughts and condolences are with the friends and family of the victim.

A Denver-based company, Gold Star Sausage, has announced the recall of chili products due to an undeclared allergen, soy.The recalled products include, 16 oz plastic containers of "Johnson's Chili" and 16 oz containers of "Johnson's Chili, Hot and Spicy." Each package should have the establishment number of 1106 on it.The products are recalled because the known allergen, soy , is in the product and not declared on the label. A 7-year-old girl was struck by a car after she got off of the school bus and crossed in front of traffic.The accident occurred on Lakeview Avenue in front of Corwin International Magnet School and the young girl's mother witnessed the accident as she waited for her daughter at the bus stop.Police have said that they do not think that the car was traveling very fast, but the speed of the car is unknown at this time. A car accident in Denver ended with a vehicle crashing into a duplex near Alameda Avenue and Lafeyette Street.According to the Denver Fire Department, the accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. when the car slammed into the front of the duplex, leaving a 3 to 5 foot hole in the it. It also destroyed the front porch.No serious injuries were reported after the accident.
