A local doctor at Centennial Medical Plaza, Medical Center of Aurora, and Sky Ridge Medical Center, who is also an assistant professor at University of Colorado in Denver, turned himself in last week in connection to a fatal hit and run.
The 40 year-old man is charged with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death and reckless driving resulting in death.
According to witness statements, a 55 year-old man who exited a bus was crossing the street and stopped in the yellow median lane waiting for cars to pass when allegedly the doctor’s gold SUV hit him and continued to drive away.
The man was knocked into the busy street where he was hit by another car and dragged for several blocks before witnesses were able to get the car to stop.
