Six-year-old Vail boy hurt in bus accident

A six-year-old boy, who is a resident of Vail, Colorado, was left in critical condition after he got hit by a bus on Saturday, August 10.

The accident happened at around 6:59 p.m. when the bus, which was heading west towards East Meadow Drive across from the Solaris Plaza in Vail Village, hit the boy. The bus was driven by a 68-year-old man, who was placed on paid leave until the conclusion of the crash’s investigation.

The child was moved to Denver Health after receiving initial treatment at the Vail Valley Medical Center.

The Vail Police Department is still conducting further investigations into the accident, and the Colorado State Patrol is lending support by conducting a mechanical inspection of the vehicle.
