Yesterday evening, 2 people were killed in a car accident
on U.S. Highway 6&50. The accident occurred at around 7 p.m. near 20 1/2 Road, according to the Colorado State Patrol. Police reports indicate that the victims were traveling in a car in the westbound lanes of the highway, in front of a pickup truck. When an 18-wheeler from the eastbound lanes of the highway turned left across the westbound lanes in front of the car, the driver of the car braked to avoid a collision. The pickup truck's driver was unable to brake in time and rear-ended the car, pushing it into the semi-truck. The two people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Our utmost sympathies go out to the victims' families and friends.
