Woman injured in accident caused by driver’s…

A firefighter was injured after the fire truck he was riding in was involved in an accident.The fire engine was traveling with the lights and sirens on when the accident occurred at the intersection of East Colfax and Washington Street.The accident occurred when a female driver thought that she had time to cross in front of the fire truck and she pulled out in front it causing the two vehicles to collide. A suspected drunk driver slammed into a truck that was pulled over on the side of the interstate while attempting to help a pedestrian.According to Colorado Springs Police, the accident occurred around 2 a.m. on I-25 when a 26-year-old man pulled over on the side to help a pedestrian and a 30-year-old driver struck the back of his truck.Police arrested the driver for suspicion of driving under the influence and booked him in jail for charges of DUI and vehicular assault.
