A pedestrian was found lying on the roadway after being hit by an unknown vehicle in west Aurora, Colorado late Sunday, December 1. The Aurora Police reported that when they arrived at the scene of the accident, they found a woman lying in the street near the intersection of East 4th Way and Kenton Street. The accident was called in at around 10:19 p.m. Emergency medical responders brought her to a nearby hospital in hopes of reviving her, but she was pronounced dead a short while after being hospitalized. Police authorities are encouraging anyone who might know information regarding the details of the accident to get in touch with personnel of the Aurora Public Safety Communications Department by calling 303-627-3100.

The circumstances surrounding the vehicular accident that led to the death of a two-year-old girl in Estes Park, Denver is being investigated by the Estes Park Police Department. According to the police, initial investigation revealed that the crash happened at about 10:53 a.m. on Sunday, July 28 in a parking lot at 501 Big Thompson Avenue. Police officers responded to the scene of the crime to find that the child had sustained life-threatening injuries. The girl was rushed to the hospital, but she later died due to the gravity of her wounds. The driver of the vehicle that hit the little girl was a 43-year-old Lafayette woman. Police did not release the names of the people involved in the crash. Charges will be filed by the district attorney’s office.

Michael Hastings killed in car accident…  

According to BuzzFeed editor-in-chief Ben Smith, journalist Michael Hastings was killed in a car crash on Tuesday, June 18, in Los Angeles. Hastings was a writer for the news site BuzzFeed and a contributing editor for Rolling Stone. Smith's statement revealed no other details about Hastings' death; however, according to police reports, a victim of a car crash who was burned so badly that he was unrecognizable was found in Hollywood. The car had slammed into a tree, where is was later found by police, and had caught on fire. Investigators stated they needed time to identify the victim, although it is believed to be Hastings. Hastings is most known for his Rolling Stone article about former U.S. Military Chief in Afghanistan Stanley McChrystal that led to his eventual resignation.

Glenwood Canyon I-70 construction zone to be asses…  

The Interstate 70 construction zone on the east end of Glenwood Canyon is set to be the subject of extreme scrutiny of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) officials after yet another fatal motor vehicle accident occurred there on May 22, the second within the past six weeks. CDOT spokeswoman Nancy Shanks said their department reviews every road accident in which a fatality is involved to assess whether highway conditions played a part in the auto accident. In the most recent accident, a Mazda sedan collided head-on with a semi-truck carrying beer west of the reverse Curve tunnel. The female driver of the car was proclaimed dead on the spot, while the three passengers in the car with her were brought to the Vail Valley Medical Center. Along with the Colorado State Patrol, the State Patrol’s Victim Crime Unit is holding investigations regarding the situation.
