More former NFL players sue the league for head in…
Four more former NFL players have filed a lawsuit against the National Football League, claiming it did not do enough to protect its players from brain injuries.Jamal Lewis, 32; Dorsey Levens, 41; Fulton Kuykendall, 58; and Ryan Stewart, 38, filed the suit this week in Atlanta. They claim the league purposefully mislead players and tried to hide the serious effects and risks associated with multiple concussions. According to the lawsuit, the NFL put its players in danger by sending them back out into the field after suffering head injuries. All four men claim to suffer permanent effects of brain damage they suffered while playing professionally, including headaches, sleeplessness, and memory loss. The NFL continues to speak out against these claims and states that players' safety is its top priority. If you or someone you love has experienced a head injury due to the negligence of another individual, contact the Denver concussion attorneys of Hull & Zimmerman, P.C., today by calling (303) 423-1770.
Coaches in colorado must complete brain injury cla…
Coaches in the state of Colorado must now complete online courses on brain injuries in order to be aware of causes and symptoms so that they will be aware if one of their athletes received a concussion in a game. The online course also discusses steps to recovery and although the classes are informative, clinical descriptions are much different than actually identifying a brain injury in a student athlete. Each brain is different so symptoms are different for everyone, but emotional and behavioral changes can be seen in many people when a concussion or brain injury is suffered. If you or a loved one has been injured after a brain injury, contact the Denver concussion lawyers of Hull & Zimmerman, P.C., by calling (303) 423-1770.
Colorado concussion law most drastic in nation…
The new law passed in Colorado will have the toughest measures referring to the concussion laws in young athletes. The new law that was just signed into effect, states that any young athlete, as young as 11 years old, that is suspected to have suffered a head injury must sit out. This law requires coaches in public schools, private schools, Little League and Pop Warner to take a free online training session every year to learn how to determine the signs of a concussion. Many other states only require school-related coaches to participate in these training seminars. The law will go into affect in January and comes after concerns for the long-term damage concussions can do, especially when they are received at such a young age.If you or a loved one has suffered a concussion, you may have grounds to take legal action.
