300,000 "Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears" sold online and in Build-A-Bear Workshop stores between April and December of this year have been recalled because of a potential choking hazard.According to Consumer Product Safety Commission, the eyes of the bear could loosen and come off, which could become a choking hazard for young children. No injuries have been reported in relation to this recall.The "Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears" are white with multi-colored hearts on the body. Colorado man awarded $20.6 million in suit against…  

A jury in Massachusetts recently awarded a Colorado man $20.6 million in a wrongful death lawsuit filed against Toys 'R Us over the death of his wife in an accident involving an inflatable slide.According to the lawsuit, the man and his wife were visiting family in Massachusetts when his wife was killed in an accident involving a Toys 'R Us pool slide.  The woman was injured as she was going down the slide and it collapsed, causing her to hit her head on the edge of the pool.  At the age of 29, the wife and mother became a quadriplegic and needed life support.  Her injuries were so severe that she eventually had to be taken off of life support and she passed away.The Toyquest Banzai inflatable pool slide involved in the accident was sold by Toys 'R Us in their store and online.  The product was imported from China and lawyers argued that it did not meet U.S. regulations concerning pool slides.  Last week, the Salem Superior Court found Toys 'R Us liable for the woman's death and awarded her family punitive and compensatory damages.

Fischer Price toy wagon and blocks recalled for la…  

This week, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission released a report stating that the Fischer Price Little Builders' Load 'n Go wagon and building blocks set poses a laceration hazard to children.  Mattel and Fischer Price subsequently issued a voluntary recall of around 208,000 of the wagon and building block sets in the U.S.The defective product was sold by retailers from June 2009 to July 2011 and includes a red plastic wagon, a plastic toy dog, and multi-colored plastic building blocks.The toy manufacturer and the CPSC have received 7 reports of injury involving the recalled product.  In most reports, children were injured after falling on the wagon's yellow plastic handle.  5 of these reports involved injuries which necessitated treatment involving stitches or surgical glue.Contact the Denver dangerous childcare products and toys attorneys of Hull & Zimmerman, P.C. at (303) 423-1770 today, if your child has been injured playing with a dangerous or defective toy.

Target recalls children’s booster seats…  

Target Corporation has announced an expanded recall of Circo Child Booster Seats sold in Target stores across the country from 2005 to 2009.  The booster seats are made of a blue plastic with green trim and a white restraint belt buckle.  The name of the product is featured on a green label on the front of the seats.The recall includes about 375,000 children's booster seats.  Target executives issued the voluntary recall with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission after receiving 10 reports of the booster seats' safety belt buckles unexpectedly opening.  When this happens, the child is at risk of falling out of the seat.  3 of the reports involved a child falling from the seats, onto a table or the floor, and suffering bruising.If your child has been injured by a recalled or dangerous child care product, contact the Denver dangerous child care products and toys lawyers of Hull & Zimmerman, P.C. at (303) 423-1770 to discuss your case today.
