Four Leading Causes of Semi Truck Crashes in Color…

Truck driver charged in accident caused by spill o…
This Monday, a truck caused multiple accidents involving around a dozen vehicles by spilling a slick material on Interstate 70 and a portion of Interstate 76.
The EDS Waste Solutions truck was leaving a water treatment plant when it spilled the liquid on the eastbound lanes of I-70 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Wheat Ridge Police charged the truck's driver with a traffic violation and his case will go to court in November.
Of the vehicles involved in the accidents, at least 3 were motorcycles. Several people were injured in the accidents and all that were taken to hospitals have since been released, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Officials will be investigating the accidents and EDS.

Semi-truck driver charged in fatal Glenwood Spring…
The semi-truck driver involved in a fatal truck accident in Glenwood Springs yesterday is being charged with reckless driving causing a fatality. A 24-year old woman was killed in the accident.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the 58-year old truck driver ran a red light while driving in the southbound lanes of Highway 82. The accident occurred at about 1:15 p.m. when the truck driver struck the woman's vehicle as it turned left onto the highway from County Road 154.
The 18-wheeler struck the driver's side of the woman's Jeep. The victim's vehicle was then pushed across the two lanes of oncoming traffic before stopping at the highway's northeast shoulder.
Police report that speed, alcohol, and drugs are not believed to be factors in the accident.
Our prayers and thoughts are with the victim's family and friends.
Amtrak accident victim sues trucking company…
A 38-year old attendant on the Amtrak train that was struck by a semi-truck in Nevada last week has sued the trucking company. The passenger suffered serious and permanent injuries, as did dozens more. 6 people were killed in the tragic truck accident.
The lawsuit names the trucking company and the driver that was driving the truck involved in the accident as defendants and seeks more than $10,000 in damages for mental and physical suffering. The lawsuit states that the driver "negligently and carelessly failed to heed railroad warning signs and crashed into the westbound California Zephyr Amtrak train."
In the accident, the truck crashed through the arms of a railroad crossing and into the train carrying around 110 people. Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are unsure of why the driver ignored or did not see the railroad signs or the train's lights. Investigations could take up to a year, but initial findings suggest that the truck driver was negligent for braking only 320 feet before the accident.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victims of this tragic accident
