Man files lawsuit against Walmart andother compani…
Fifty-three-year-old Belen resident Chris Wallace filed a personal injury lawsuit against Walmart, Frontera Produce Ltd., and Primus Group, Inc. in Santa Fe District Court, claiming that a cantaloupe sold, manufactured, and tested (Colorado-based Jensen Farms, particularly) by the companies, respectively, made him sick, as it was contaminated with listeria.According to the lawsuit, Wallace incurred brain injuries as a result of having consumed the cantaloupe in August 2011, and was immediately taken to an Albuquerque emergency room after suffering a stroke on Sept. 7, 2011.Wallace then had to have a feeding tube inserted into his body and undergo an array of tests, after which he was transferred to a rehabilitation center where his health continued to deteriorate.According to his attorney, Wallace was living a healthy life except for momentary rheumatoid arthritis attacks since 2006, but is now suffering from short-term memory loss.Unfortunately, contaminated food and food products cause people in Denver to suffer from serious ailments.
