Information Subpoenas

An information subpoena is a type of subpoena that requires an individual, corporation, or other entity to produce information regarding a judgment debtor’s assets. Often, an information subpoena is a form that directs the individual or entity receiving the subpoena to answer particular questions, which are found on the subpoena form itself. The answers that are given by the individual or entity being subpoenaed can be used in court as evidence.

When are Information Subpoenas Used

If an individual is required to provide compensation to another party according to the judgment in a lawsuit, it might be important to find out what assets that party has that can be used to meet the terms of his or her judgment. Information subpoenas may be given to employers, family members, or other parties to locate assets that can be used to provide compensation to the plaintiff following a lawsuit decision.

For the average person, information subpoenas can be very confusing. The services we offer include:

  • Legal guidance to those who have been subpoenaed
  • Legal guidance for those who wish to issue subpoenas against an individual or entity

We want to help you or your business understand your legal options when dealing with subpoenas.
