According to Danny Foster, attorney for Colorado fire chief's wife Adriene Garcia, Garcia likely fled the scene of a car accident that injured two children because of a previous brain injury, CBS Denver reported on May 15.Aurora fire chief Mike Garcia called 9-1-1 as soon as he learned about the incident. In a statement Foster made to CBS 4, he confirmed that Adriene had a pre-existing brain condition from an accident that occurred several years earlier, thereby explaining why she left after causing the wreck. Police were able to contact Adriene 21 minutes after she left the scene.Excessive speed or alcohol were not a factor in the accident, police authorities said. Police investigators arrested 85-year-old Marshall Smith on Monday, January 27 after conducting a series of tests on a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run case earlier this January and concluding that he was the one who drove the car when the accident happened.The arrest was made possible due to a witness providing the license plate number leading to the white 1985 Chevrolet Impala’s location.Sixty-three-year-old Leanna Hund was walking along Colorado Boulevard at Exposition Avenue in Denver on her way to work at around 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 9 when a white car struck her and then left the scene of the accident. Hund died in the accidentAccording to people, Smith had undergone dialysis for his kidney condition the day before the accident and was advised to not drive for a while by his physician. Woman found lying on west Aurora street victim of …  
A pedestrian was found lying on the roadway after being hit by an unknown vehicle in west Aurora, Colorado late Sunday, December 1.The Aurora Police reported that when they arrived at the scene of the accident, they found a woman lying in the street near the intersection of East 4th Way and Kenton Street. The accident was called in at around 10:19 p.m.Emergency medical responders brought her to a nearby hospital in hopes of reviving her, but she was pronounced dead a short while after being hospitalized.Police authorities are encouraging anyone who might know information regarding the details of the accident to get in touch with personnel of the Aurora Public Safety Communications Department by calling 303-627-3100.
