What Colorado Cities Rank Low on United States’ “Safest Cities” List?

woman smiling while holder her driver license | safest cities in coloradoColorado is one of the most popular states to live in due to its beautiful landscapes and thriving urban communities. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, there is no better state to live. Residents here enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities from camping and hiking to sailing and skiing. Yet, Colorado isn’t the safest state in the nation and some cities here are downright dangerous.

Recently, WalletHub, a personal finance website, ranked 182 cities across the country to determine what the safest cities in the country really were. WalletHub compared the cities across three key dimensions:

  1. Home and Community Safety
  2. Natural Disaster Risk
  3. Financial Safety

3 Safest Cities in Colorado

Unfortunately, none of the Colorado cities were able to break the top 100 safest cities. What were the safest cities in the state?

  1. Aurora ranked 105th overall safest city. Residents here had an impressive financial safety which was 62nd among other cities. Its propensity for natural disasters, however, brought the city down. Aurora ranked 133rd for natural disaster risk.
  2. Colorado Springs ranked 139th overall safest city. Residents here had a very high financial safety ranking of 24th, however, other ranks weren’t great. Overall natural disaster risk was 126th and home and community safety ranking was a dismal 149th.
  3. Denver ranked the lowest and was the 160th safest city. Denver residents had a high financial safety of 43rd but ranked very low – just 154th – for home and community safety.

Seeking Compensation After an Injury Accident

No matter where you live in Colorado, accidents still occur. When another person’s negligence causes you harm, you have a right to seek compensation to help you cover medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, property damage, lost wages, and more. Filing a claim to collect this money isn’t easy, however, without a skilled attorney on your side from the start.

Your attorney will need to examine the details surrounding your accident, review the evidence, go through the police report, and speak to any eyewitnesses to determine who is truly to blame for your accident and injuries. In some cases, there may be multiple parties that share the liability.

It is important to act quickly after an injury accident, however. In Colorado, accident victims have just two years from the date of the crash to file a claim. If you miss this deadline, you will be barred from seeking compensation.
