Four more former NFL players have filed a lawsuit against the National Football League, claiming it did not do enough to protect its players from brain injuries.
Jamal Lewis, 32; Dorsey Levens, 41; Fulton Kuykendall, 58; and Ryan Stewart, 38, filed the suit this week in Atlanta. They claim the league purposefully mislead players and tried to hide the serious effects and risks associated with multiple concussions. According to the lawsuit, the NFL put its players in danger by sending them back out into the field after suffering head injuries.
All four men claim to suffer permanent effects of brain damage they suffered while playing professionally, including headaches, sleeplessness, and memory loss. The NFL continues to speak out against these claims and states that players’ safety is its top priority.
