U.S. CPSC recalls jogging strollers for amputation risk

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada have both announced the recall of 30,000 jogging strollers that are made from Phil & Teds USA Inc.

The Colorado-based company has received reports of several adults getting their finger caught in the hinge mechanism when they were attempting to fold or unfold the item. This then poses an amputation or laceration risk.

The product was sold nationwide between May 2008 and July 2010 and were priced anywhere from $350 to $450. The company received injury reports from the product. One was a finger tip amputation and the other two were lacerations.
