1 killed 1 injured in Delta hit-and-run accident

Last week, 1 person was killed and another was injured in a hit-and-run car accident near Delta,  Colorado.

The accident occurred between Delta and Hotchkiss on Highway 92 last Tuesday, according to the Colorado State Patrol.  A pickup traveling westbound was forced off the highway to avoid being struck by a white sedan that crossed over from the eastbound lanes into oncoming traffic.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 67-year-old man from Paonia, suffered minor injuries in the fatal car accident. His 66-year-old wife was seriously injured.  She was taken to a local hospital, where she later passed away from the injuries she incurred in the hit-and-run accident.
