6-year old Colorado Springs girl attacked by dog

Earlier this month, a 6-year old Colorado Springs girl was attacked by a dog in her back yard.  The girl had to stay home from school for a week after being bit by a retriever-pit mix.

According to the girl’s mother, the dog was in the care of a neighbor when the attack occurred.  The dog crossed over into the family’s yard and bit the 6-year old on her leg.

The girl’s parents heard her scream and saw a large gash in her leg.  They took her to the hospital immediately where she received 12 stitches.
